Do typos really cost customers?

For a lot of people, yes. A spelling mistake or a years-old date doesn't mean you do bad work, but a visitor comparing three companies has nothing else to go on. Small signs of neglect are an easy reason to pick someone else.

Will it flag my business name or trade terms as typos?

We try hard not to. Capitalized words, words in your site's name and address, words you use several times, and anything a dictionary knows as a real word (including trade and medical terms) are skipped, and customer reviews quoted on your site are left out. If something still slips through, ignore it.
