Enter your website to check one page for common accessibility problems — the kind that lock out customers who use screen readers or keyboards, and that show up most in ADA website lawsuits. Results take about 10 seconds, with a plain-English explanation of every issue. Free, no sign-up.

Questions about website accessibility

What does this free accessibility check look for?

It runs axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine by Deque, against one page of your site and reports problems such as images with no text description, form fields with no label, buttons and links with no readable name, a missing page language or title, broken heading order, and invalid accessibility attributes. Each problem is explained in plain English and shown where it occurs.

Does passing this check mean my website is ADA compliant?

No. Automated checks find only part of what affects people with disabilities. Colour contrast, keyboard-only use, screen-reader behaviour and your other pages need a person to test. Treat a clean result as a good start, not a certificate. No tool or company can honestly guarantee a site won't be sued.

Do accessibility overlay widgets make a site compliant?

No. Overlay widgets add a toolbar on top of the page but don't fix the site's own code. They are widely criticised by disabled users and accessibility experts, one major vendor paid a settlement to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission over its claims, and many sites sued for inaccessibility already had a widget installed. This check flags common overlay widgets if your page loads one.

Why are businesses being sued over their websites?

U.S. courts have applied the Americans with Disabilities Act to many business websites, and thousands of website accessibility lawsuits are filed each year, most often against online stores, restaurants and healthcare providers. A separate U.S. Justice Department rule sets accessibility deadlines for state and local government websites. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Do you save the website I check?

No. The page is fetched once to run the check, and neither the page nor your results are stored. Only public websites can be checked.
